Environment

Netmail Archive 5.4

Synopsis

This procedure describes how administrators can configure SNMPv2c on their Archive server to monitor their Archive server.

Solution

Follow these simple steps:

1. Stop the Net-snmp service.

2. Edit the C:\usr\etc\snmp\snmpd.conf file by adding rocommunity <your_community> outside the Netmail Secure section:

____________________________________________________________________
# Netmail Secure SNMP configuration do not edit #

rouser Mzg5ZDc3NTZhNWFhMTQ2NjljMmIwOD authpriv 1.3.6.1.4.1.27912

proxy -v2c -c public 127.0.0.1:16100 .1.3.6.1.4.1.27912.1.1

master agentx

# End Netmail Secure SNMP configuration

rocommunity <your_community>
____________________________________________________________________

3. Restart the Net-snmp service.

4. Open a command prompt, and run the following command to test the setup:

snmpwalk  -v2c -Of -mALL -c <your_community> <archive server's IP> .1.3.6.1.4.1.27912.1
