Environment

Netmail Archive 5.x

Novell GroupWise v8.0 and higher

Novell Open Enterprise Server (Linux) v.2.x and higher

Synopsis

This article will  explain how to install or update the Netmail WebViewer plugin for  the GroupWise WebAacces viewer used to enable archive access directly from the GroupWise client.

Solution

Before beginning the installation, ensure that the Netmail WebViewer files are available on the server running GroupWise WebAccess. They are located in the Netmail Archive installation package, in the folder labeled WebViewer/program files/Messaging Architects/.

To copy files between a Windows and a Linux environment, a Windows client such as WinSCP is required (current version at this time is http://winscp.net/download/winscp552setup.exe).  WinSCP is a free open source SFTP, SCP, FTPS, and FTP client for Windows.

The paths indicated below are based on a default installation of  GroupWise WebAccess and tomcat. These paths may differ if GroupWise WebAccess was not installed in the default location.

Proceed as follows:

1. Modify the webacc.cfg file

Navigate to the folder containing the webacc.cfg file.  The default location is: /var/opt/novell/groupwise/webaccess/webacc.cfg

Open the webacc.cfg file for editing. Modify the file by adding the section shown below to the webacc.cfg file.

If this is an update to an existing installation, please verify that this section is still in the file and is accurate (after certain WebAaccess updates, some of the required data can disappear from this section).

If this is the first installation of the WebViewer, add the section to the file after the ‘end of file’ entry.

Section to be added to webacc.cfg:

###############################################################################
#TMA: Added for GWXML WebViewer Provider
###############################################################################
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#Specify the provider's class
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Provider.GWXMLV.class=com.novell.webaccess.providers.GWXMLV.GWANWP
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#Specify the provider's templates folder.
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Templates.GWXMLV.folder=GWXMLV
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#Specify the provider's configuration file.
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Provider.GWXMLV.Config.file=/var/opt/novell/groupwise/webaccess/gwxmlv.cfg
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#Specify super users. Separated by ';'
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Provider.GWXMLV.SuperUser.name=admin
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#setting for proxy, value: true or false
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Provider.GWXMLV.Proxy.disabled=false

2. Copy and modify the gwxmlv.cfg file

From the webviewer source install folder, modify the gwxmlv.cfg file and change the IP section to point to the IP address for the Remote Provider. Next, check the listed port to make sure it points to the Remote Provider. The default port for this is 6666.

After the file is updated, copy it to the WebAccess server to the same folder containing the webacc.cfg file.

3. Copy WebViewer files to WebAccess

  • Copy folders GWXMLV_CSS from the webviewer installation folder to the WebAccess css folder:
    • For Tomcat5:   /srv/www/Tomcat5/base/webapps/gw/WEB-INF/classes/templates/webacc/css
    • ForTomcat6:    /srv/Tomcat6/webapps/gw/WEB-INF/classes/templates/webacc/css

  • Rename  GWXMLV_CSS  to GWXMLV

  • Copy the TMA_ files from the CSS folder in the WebViewer installation to the WebAccess css folder:
    • For Tomcat5:    /srv/www/Tomcat5/base/webapps/gw/WEB-INF/classes/templates/webacc/css
    • ForTomcat6:    /srv/Tomcat6/webapps/gw/WEB-INF/classes/templates/webacc/css
  • Copy the fldricon.inc file from the WebAccess css folder to GWXMLV folder.
  • Copy the caption.htt file from the GWXMLV8 folder in the WebViewer installation source to the WebAccess css folder, but make sure to first backup the original caption.htt file before copying the file over. Paths are shown below:
    • For Tomcat5:    /srv/www/Tomcat5/base/webapps/gw/WEB-INF/classes/templates/webacc/css
    • ForTomcat6:    /srv/Tomcat6/webapps/gw/WEB-INF/classes/templates/webacc/css
  • Upload the provider folder from the WebViewer installation source to the WebAccess providers folder:
    • For Tomcat5:    /srv/www/Tomcat5/base/webapps/gw/WEB-INF/classes/com/novell/webaccess/providers
    • For Tomcat6:    /srv/Tomcat6/webapps/gw/WEB-INF/classes/com/novell/webaccess/providers

  • Rename the copied provider folder to GWXMLV
  • Copy the WebaccImages folder from the WebViewer installation source to the WebAccess images folder; note that the numbered folder will be different for every installation. Locations are:
    • For  Tomcat5:    /srv/www/Tomcat5/base/webapps/gw/webaccess/200905140533/images
    • For  Tomcat6:    /srv/Tomcat6/webapps/gw/webaccess/200905140533/images
  • Rename WebaccImages folder to GWXMLV

4. Restart Tomcat Services

For Novell Open Enterprise Server 2.x:

/etc/init.d/novell-tomcat5 stop

or

rcnovell-tomcat5 stop

rcnovell-tomcat5 start

For Novell Open Enterprise Server 11.x:

/etc/init.d/novell-tomcat6 stop

or

rcnovell-tomcat6 stop

rcnovell-tomcat6 start

If the Archive button is not visible after the Tomcat service restart, a server reboot may be required.
