Environment

Netmail Archive 5.x
M+Archive 2008.x and Up

Synopsis

After upgrading to GroupWise 8, the archive link in WebAccess may disappear. This is because upgrading to GroupWise 8 will break the archive link in the Groupwise WebViewer.

This article will explain how to conduct a manual installation of the WebViewer in Windows environments.

Solution

As of GroupWise 8, the paths that WebAccess uses have changed, so a manual installation of the WebViewer is now neccesary.

The instructions below explain how to install the WebViewer manually with GroupWise 8 on Windows.

Note that the install files are in different locations, depending on whether Netmail 5.2 or 5.3 is deployed. In v5.2, the install files are part of the download, but in v5.3, they are on the desktop of the local Netmail user.

For the installation, the paths that must be accessed during the installation are at the following locations:

CSS or Templates – c:\novell\groupwise\Tomcat5.5\webapps\gw\WEB-INF\classes\templates\webacc\css

Providers -- c:\novell\groupwise\Tomcat5.5\webapps\gw\WEB-INF\classes\com\novell\webaccess\providers

Images -- C:\Novell\GroupWise\tomcat5.5\webapps\gw\webaccess\200905140533\images  (the folder name under WebAccess will vary, but the images folder will be inside it.)

The locations to copy files 'from and to' are specified below.

Start by copying the following text to the locations specified below (after copying the files, customize the SuperUsers according to the  real SuperUsers that exist on your system):

###############################################################################
#TMA: Added for GWXML WebViewer Provider
###############################################################################
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# Specify the provider's class
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Provider.GWXMLV.class=com.novell.webaccess.providers.GWXMLV.GWANWP
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# Specify the provider's templates folder.
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Templates.GWXMLV.folder=GWXMLV
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# Specify the provider's configuration file.
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Provider.GWXMLV.Config.file=C:\Novell\GroupWise\WebAccess/gwxmlv.cfg
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# Specify super users. Separated by ';'
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Provider.GWXMLV.SuperUser.name=admin
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# setting for proxy, value: true or false
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Provider.GWXMLV.Proxy.disabled=false

Copy the above into  c:\novell\groupwise\webaccess\webacc.cfg and append it to the bottom after the #end of file.

From the install source, copy the gwxmlv.cfg file located in the \WebViewer\program files\messaging architects folder to c:\novell\groupwise\webaccess. You will need to edit the gwxmlv.cfg file to point to the remote provider server's IP address using default port 6666.

  • Locate GWXMLV_css in the WebViewer\Program Files\Messaging Architects folder
  • Copy it to c:\novell\groupwise\tomcat5.5\webapps\gw\WEB-INF\classes\templates\webacc\css, and rename GWXMLV_css to GWXMLV
  • Copy the TMA_ files from the CSS folder in the installation source to c:\novell\groupwise\Tomcat5.5\webapps\gw\WEB-INF\classes\templates\webacc\css
  • Copy the fldricon.inc file from the css folder (in the WebAccess install location and not from the installation source) to the GWXMLV folders inside the CSS directory
  • Copy the provider folders to c:\novell\groupwise\tomcat5.5\webapps\gw\WEB-INF\classes\com\novell\webaccess\providers  and rename provider to GWXMLV
  • Copy the WebaccImages folder to  c:\novell\groupwise\Tomcat5.5\webapps\gw\webaccess\200905140533\images
  • Rename WebaccImages to GWXMLV  (the folder name under webaccess will vary, but the images folder will be inside it.)
  • Copy the caption.htt file from GWXMLV8 to the css folder in webaccess, but first, back up the original caption.htt file

Once all files are copied over, restart the Tomcat service on the WebAccess application server with the following command:

  • service tomcat5 restart

Log back in to WebAccess, and the Archive button should now appear in the top right corner of the WebAccess interface.
