When you create a domain name, ensure that the name:

  • Uses an IANA domain-naming scheme (recommended). See RFC 1034 for more information.
  • Is a valid UTF-8 byte sequence.
  • Begins with a number or letter.
  • Uses alphanumeric characters, underscore (_), period (.), and hyphen (-).
  • Does not contain a comma (,), colon (:), space, or slash (/) character.
  • Does not contain adjacent hyphens or periods (--, .., .-, .-).
  • Does not have final hyphens or periods.
  • Is not an IPv4 or IPv6 IP address.

Valid: my-cluster.example.com, my_cluster.example.com

Invalid: domain, cluster_example_com
